The brief

For this 5-room resale renovation in Serangoon Central, the homeowners wanted more than a cosmetic refresh. The flat had good bones and a generous layout, but the finishes were dated and the spaces no longer suited the way the family lived day to day. The brief was a comprehensive redesign: a home that looked considered and current, used every square foot with intent, and still felt easy to live in.

The design

We planned the home together with the owners from day one, so every decision had a reason behind it. The kitchen was opened up and rebuilt as the working heart of the home, with full-height cabinetry to keep countertops clear and daily clutter out of sight. The living and dining areas were kept open and connected, anchored by a clean-lined feature wall and a palette of warm neutrals that lets the family's own pieces stand out.

Material choices leaned refined rather than flashy: durable surfaces where the home works hardest, softer textures where the family unwinds. Both bathrooms were fully overhauled, and the bedrooms were finished as calm, uncluttered retreats. The result is a balance of visual appeal and purposeful function, with nothing included that does not earn its place.
