Inside the home

The brief

For this HDB resale renovation at Punggol Walk, the owner did not need a dramatic transformation. The flat was structurally sound and its solid timber floors were too good to hack away. What it needed was a smart refresh: proper storage in every bedroom, a kitchen brought up to date, and a clean, bright finish throughout, delivered fast so the family could move in without months of waiting.

The design

This is what a well-planned light renovation looks like. Instead of hacking, we kept the flat's best assets, starting with the original solid timber flooring, which was retained and refreshed to a warm shine. The budget went where it works hardest: new carpentry and a cleaner, brighter shell.

The kitchen was rebuilt with white handle-less cabinets capped in dark walnut trim, quartz-look worktops and warm under-cabinet lighting, keeping the glass-panelled doors to the service yard so daylight still reaches deep into the galley. Every bedroom received full-height white wardrobes with the same walnut detailing, softened by rounded corner posts and fitted with open bedside niches wired with power points, so charging cables finally have a home. Zebra blinds, fan lights and fresh paint complete the reset. About six weeks after works began, the home was done.

Through a friend's recommendation, Dreamakers Interior renovated my house. In just a month and a half, my house was completely renovated. I'm very happy. Thank you to my ID, Kayden.
